How to Get and Craft Molotov Cocktails in Resident Evil Requiem

The Molotov Cocktail is one of the most effective crowd-control throwable weapons in Resident Evil Requiem. While playing as Grace in the Rhodes Hill Care Center, survival often depends on careful planning and resource management — especially when dealing with the towering mutant girl roaming the hallways.

Fortunately, after progressing further into the facility, players can unlock the Molotov Cocktail recipe, allowing them to craft a powerful tool for handling both small groups of enemies and dangerous patrol threats.

How to Unlock the Molotov Cocktail Recipe

After collecting all three Quartz pieces, the story leads into the Basement of the Rhodes Hill Care Center. The objective in this section is to locate three Joint Plugs and restore power to access the jail cells.

Once one Joint Plug is removed from the main jail control terminal, head toward one of the optional Power Distributors in the basement area. Insert the Joint Plug into the console to restore power. This will illuminate the area and unlock a previously sealed room nearby.

Inside the newly opened room, a zombie can be found guarding a white briefcase. Eliminate the enemy and inspect the file inside the case to obtain the Molotov Cocktail recipe.

How to Craft Molotov Cocktails

After acquiring the recipe, Molotov Cocktails become available for crafting.

Required Materials:

• 1 Empty Glass Bottle
• 60 Infected Blood

Empty Glass Bottles are commonly found throughout various areas, particularly inside the Rhodes Hill Care Center. Previously, these bottles were mainly used as distractions, helping Grace slip past enemies undetected. Now, they can be combined with Infected Blood to create a powerful incendiary weapon.

How Molotov Cocktails Work

Molotov Cocktails serve as an effective crowd-control tool, capable of burning multiple enemies at once. They are particularly useful against groups of zombies in tight spaces.

Additionally, Molotovs can be used strategically against patrolling enemies such as the mutant Girl. While the flames will not directly damage her, they can temporarily scare her away, creating a valuable window of time for Grace to reposition or find a safe hiding spot before she returns.

Unlocking the Molotov Cocktail significantly improves survivability in the later sections of Resident Evil Requiem, offering both offensive capability and tactical breathing room during high-pressure encounters.
