What's The Free Epic Games Title Today?

The Epic Games Store continues its weekly tradition of offering free PC games to its users. Since the program's inception in 2018, the digital storefront has given away hundreds of titles, ranging from small independent projects to major triple-A blockbusters. This practice has become a cornerstone of Epic's strategy to attract and retain a player base.

The complete Epic Games free games list is a long one, and it grows each week with new additions. This week, players can claim a visual novel, Return To Ash, and a starter pack for a free-to-play MMOFPS, Stalcraft, with two more titles scheduled to become available next week.

What's Free on Epic Games Store Today?

From February 19 to February 26, users can add two new Epic Games free games to their libraries. First, Return to Ash, it is a visual novel that places the player in the role of Ash, a character who awakens in the afterlife. The narrative unfolds through dialogue and player choices, which directly influence the direction of the story and its ultimate conclusion. The game presents a story that explores serious themes while maintaining a generally lighthearted tone. Gameplay consists primarily of reading text and making decisions at key moments in the narrative.

Stalcraft (STALCRAFT: X Starter Edition) is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter that has been available for a couple of years. The game combines the realistic visual style and gunplay of a tactical shooter with the blocky, open-world environment reminiscent of Minecraft. This starter edition provides new players with a collection of in-game items to begin their journey, including seven days of premium account status, cosmetic items, consumable supplies, and various artifacts to aid in gameplay. What's The Next Free Epic Game?

Starting on February 26 and available until March 5, Epic free games will offer Boxes: Lost Fragments, a puzzle game that focuses on the tactile experience of manipulating and unlocking a series of intricate puzzle boxes.

The second free title for that week will be My Night Job, a survival-horror action game with a strong retro aesthetic that pays homage to 1980s movies. The game is also set within a large, monster-filled mansion. Players have access to a wide array of over 60 different weapons to combat the diverse assortment of creatures they will encounter.

Epic Games Free Games List (Since 2019 to February 2026)

To claim the Epic Games Store free games, a user must have an Epic Games account. Once logged in, navigating to the store's homepage will display the current free game offerings. From the game's store page, the user can click the "Get" button. This initiates a transaction process, but the price will be listed as zero. Completing this transaction adds the game to the user's library permanently. I do believe this is a straightforward process. Once a game is in the library, it can be downloaded and played at any time, even after the free offer period has ended.

The program has included some of the most significant titles in recent gaming history, such as Grand Theft Auto V, a sprawling open-world action-adventure game that has sold over 175 million copies worldwide. Other notable giveaways have been Wolfenstein: The New Order, a critically acclaimed first-person shooter that rebooted the classic franchise, and Death Stranding, a unique action game from legendary creator Hideo Kojima. Very recently, players got Hogwarts Legacy, and it's been the hottest Epic Games' free proposition in December 2025.

The Epic Games Store launched in December 2018, and from the very beginning, it made a bold statement by offering epic games free as a core part of its platform. The very first free game was Subnautica, a highly acclaimed open-world survival game, available from December 12 to December 27, 2018. This was immediately followed by Super Meat Boy, a notoriously challenging and beloved indie platformer, from December 28, 2018, to January 10, 2019.

This strategy of offering a high-quality (sometimes not very) free game every two weeks, which would soon become a weekly event, was a clear signal of Epic's intent to compete with established PC gaming storefronts.
