Genshin Impact 6.4 Features 10 Five-Stars and Varka’s Long-Awaited Debut
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 will feature an impressive lineup of ten 5-Star characters across its Event and Chronicled Banners, highlighted by the long-awaited debut of Varka, an Anemo Claymore wielder. Although the update does not include a new map expansion or Archon Quest, it brings several significant reruns and meaningful character additions.
Varka’s Debut and Team Requirements
Varka joins the playable roster with a kit built around Swirl reactions, enhanced by flashy dual-wielding claymore animations. However, players looking to maximize his potential should take note of his specific team-building conditions.
To unlock his full power, Varka performs best when paired with:
- At least one additional Anemo teammate
- Two teammates sharing the same element (Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo)
While early theorycrafting suggests that he may not surpass the strongest Lunar Reaction teams in Version 6.4, many players believe his ideal support options have yet to be released — potentially including Nicole and the upcoming character Lohen.
Version 6.4 Banner Overview
The banner lineup for Version 6.4 was initially revealed through datamining and later officially confirmed during the Special Program on February 13, 2026.
The update includes both standard Event Banners and the return of the Mondstadt Chronicled Banner, bringing the total number of featured 5-Stars to ten.
First Phase (Feb 25 – March 17, 2026)
- Varka (Anemo, Claymore)
- Flins (Electro, Polearm)
- Chronicled Banner featuring:
- Jean (Anemo, Sword)
- Diluc (Pyro, Claymore)
- Mona (Hydro, Catalyst)
- Klee (Pyro, Catalyst)
- Albedo (Geo, Sword)
- Eula (Cryo, Claymore)
Second Phase (March 17 – April 7, 2026)
- Skirk (Cryo, Sword)
- Escoffier (Cryo, Polearm)
Pull Recommendations and Meta Considerations
Players not planning to summon Varka still have several strong options.
- Flins remains valuable for Lunar Reaction team compositions.
- Skirk and Escoffier currently form the strongest core for Freeze teams.
- For newer accounts, Escoffier offers exceptional value as one of the game’s strongest support units, despite being limited to Hydro and Cryo synergy.
The Chronicled Banner also brings renewed relevance to several Mondstadt characters. While Diluc and Eula have struggled in the current meta, Klee, Mona, and Albedo benefit from the Hexerei buffs introduced in Version 6.4.
Albedo, in particular, scales extremely well with Constellations and excels in Geo-based compositions, including Durin’s Burgeon teams. Mona also synergizes effectively with Furina and can support Varka’s Hydro-focused builds.
Despite community requests for broader Mondstadt character buffs, Version 6.4 does not introduce additional balance changes. Given the relatively limited Primogem availability in this update, characters like Eula, Diluc, and Jean may be considered more situational or luxury picks.
Although no 4-Star characters have been officially announced for Version 6.4, the Chronicled Banner allows players to obtain any Mondstadt 4-Star unit.
Looking Ahead
Future updates are expected to further expand Mondstadt’s story. Dornman Port and Lohen are anticipated to arrive within the next two versions, continuing the region’s narrative development.
Additionally, fans of Nod-Krai can expect a 5-Star Geo Crystallize support, Linnea, in Version 5.5. It remains unclear whether the Hexerei system will expand further, but both Lohen and Nicole are rumored to become part of the feature.
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 launches on February 25, 2026, with its first banner phase running until March 17 and the second phase continuing through April 7.
