Sony Is Considering Grand Theft Auto VI as a PlayStation Exclusive
Grand Theft Auto VI is still being eyed to release this November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Although there is no word on the game’s possible delay (hopefully, it won’t happen), there is a new interesting report that reveals Sony’s strategy for GTA VI.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who recently appeared on the Xbox Expansion Pass YouTube channel, has revealed that Sony considers Grand Theft Auto VI as “essentially PlayStation exclusive” in terms of how the game could make an impact to sell more consoles, as you can check his words below:
"Look, Sony sees this essentially as a PlayStation exclusive for the purposes of their calendar. They are not going to release things near this because it's going to sell a lot of PlayStations. I'm sure it'll do fine on Xbox, I'm sure it will sell a lot of copies on Xbox, but the bulk of people who buy this game are going to be buying it on PlayStation, and are going to be buying it with a PlayStation."
It’s curious that Sony's upcoming exclusive, Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, doesn’t have a release date yet, but according to Jason Schreier himself, the game is set to release in September or October this year to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI’s launch in November.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19.
