A Quiet Lawsuit Settlement Rewards Players

One player shared screenshots showing the unexpected Gem reward, admitting they had no idea what it was for and didn’t remember signing up for anything related to a lawsuit. As more players joined the discussion, it became clear that the reward was tied to a class-action lawsuit settlement in California.

Several players had signed up for the lawsuit months earlier and were promised both approximately $60 in cash and 2,586 Gems as part of the settlement. Over time, others came forward saying they had also participated and were still waiting for their rewards.

The case originated from a class-action lawsuit involving Supercell and a minor identified as T.T., focusing on refunds for in-game purchases made by minors. The lawsuit was settled in September of last year. Players who lived in California and had an email address connected to the claim were eligible to receive the compensation.

Most Players Missed Out

By the time the rewards began appearing in inboxes, the sign-up period had already ended, and much of the Clash of Clans community was unaware the settlement even existed. Some players joked that if they had known earlier, their multiple long-standing accounts could have resulted in a sizable payout.

If you received the Gems, congratulations — consider yourself lucky. If you didn’t, you’re far from alone. And if a similar email ever lands in your inbox again, it might be worth paying attention. Those shiny green Gems don’t come around for free very often.
