Leak Reveals Prices For Valve’s Steam Machine
Steam Machine, developed by Valve, is expected to launch this year, specifically, according to multiple reports, in early 2026, though there is no official date yet. However, a new leak offers prices for different entry-level models of the upcoming device, and it could be quite expensive for some players.
As reported by the Gamereactor portal, with a reference to the X social media account @wccftech, Czech retailer Smarty has leaked the prices for Steam Machine—well, approximate prices, as explained by the user. The leak suggests the Steam Machine will cost around $950 for a model with 512 GB of storage, while the 2 TB model will cost around $1070.
“Firstly, I am Czech, so I have verified and it truly is in source code
Secondly, the price (especially in U.S.) will be definitely lower due to import tax and retailer markup in the pricing”
At the moment, Valve hasn’t given any comments on Steam Machine prices or possible launch dates. An earlier report from Senior Editor for Insider Gaming Mike Straw suggested the developers were looking to release the long-awaited Half-Life 3 in spring 2026 at the same time as the Steam Machine launch; however, this case remains a speculation.
