The first stage of the trial between Apple and Epic Games
The first hearing in the Apple and Epic Games case took place the other day. Following the lawsuit, Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers issued a temporary order that prohibits Apple from deleting Epic Games developer accounts from its platforms.
Still, it's too early to talk about Fortnite's return to the App Store. It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the hearing, the judge noted that Apple went too far with the threat to delete accounts and therefore it is inclined to the position of Epic Games, but only with regards to developer accounts. The judge is not inclined to support Fortnite.
At the end of the first hearing, Epic Games managed to win, if you can call it that. The judge also noted that Epic created a problem for themselves, but did not leave aside Apple's 30 percent fee. Yvonne wondered where it comes from, given that the Cupertino corporation is doing its best to suppress competition on iOS.
It seems that the end of the epic is still far away. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for the end of September. The exact dates will be announced later.
