IO Interactive Are Working On a New Hitman Video Game

As we know, IO Interactive studio are working on ambitious James Bond project called 007 First Light; the game will introduce an original story not related to any James Bond movies where the players will witness the origin story of iconic character. 007 First Light is one of the most anticipated games of 2026 set to release on March 26 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

However, IO Interactive are now mostly known for their another franchise - Hitman; and they're already working on the new game in the series. It's been confirmed by CEO of the company, Hakan Abrak, as he recently spoke with Deadline. And he also revealed that co-op mode will have an important role in the new instalment:

"Of course, there will be more Hitman. But right now, I think we need to get to the other side of this year and next year you’ll get more news about Hitman co-op, because I think co-op is a really, really good extension to the universe, and will introduce very interesting mechanics and combinations in World of Assassination. But we will, after that, be talking about the next Hitman — because, of course, there’s going to be a next Hitman"
