Fortnite Gets Major Upgrade: Xbox App Launch, Cross-Platform Sync, and Free Crew for Game Pass Users
Starting November 18, PC players will be able to launch Fortnite directly through the Xbox app, offering a more convenient option for those who already rely on the app to manage their game library, updates, and social features. This new method won’t replace the Epic Games Launcher, but it does give Windows users another flexible way to access the game.
Seamless Cross-Platform Progress with Xbox Play Anywhere
Fortnite is officially joining Xbox Play Anywhere, ensuring that your progress and purchases stay with you across all supported devices. According to Microsoft:
- game saves, in-game purchases, and Battle Pass progression will sync automatically;
- Fortnite will function smoothly on Xbox consoles, PC, and compatible handheld devices;
- players can switch from one platform to another without losing any progress.
This update also boosts support for handheld systems like the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, making Fortnite even easier to enjoy while traveling.

Fortnite Crew Included with Game Pass Ultimate
Beginning November 18, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also receive Fortnite Crew at no additional cost. The membership includes:
- a new exclusive cosmetic outfit every month;
- 1,000 V-Bucks;
- full access to all active Battle Passes, including Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and others;
- additional earnable rewards across various game modes.
This addition significantly enhances the value of Game Pass Ultimate and provides extra perks for dedicated Fortnite players.
