On August 19, Counter-Strike 1.6 was updated. The minor patch primarily affected the client's security.
Full changelog
- fixed viewdemo command, due to which the client sometimes crashed
- fixed a bug due to which visible boxes appeared when buying cartridges
- fixed security setting when disconnecting client
- fixed security parameter when processing console commands
- fixed security parameter for client/server interaction
- fixed security parameter when loading models
- fixed security parameter when loading BSP and WAD
- setting cl_autowepswitch to 2 will now switch weapons when picking up a more powerful rifle, except when holding down the left or right mouse button
In addition to CS 1.6, other Valve titles also received updates: Half-Life and Team Fortress 2. The patches in these games are also intended to improve security.
