A creative Genshin Impact player has discovered an ingenious way to take down one of the new Local Legends bosses introduced in the Nod-Krai region. Reddit user Mogoru_z4n shared a clip on the Genshin Impact subreddit showcasing their unique approach to beating Sigurd, a Local Legend found on Nod-Krai’s Lempo Isle. In the video, the player uses only the Anemo Traveler in their party.

The strategy involves baiting Sigurd’s dash attack toward a nearby body of water, then quickly turning the tide — literally — by activating the Traveler’s Elemental Burst. The resulting tornado flings Sigurd straight into the water, where he instantly drowns. This clever maneuver not only eliminates the boss without a prolonged fight but also grants the player the Achievement for defeating Sigurd.

Exploiting a Rare Game Mechanic

This trick cleverly takes advantage of a rarely used Genshin Impact mechanic: enemies cannot swim. Most standard enemies drown instantly if they enter deep water, but bosses are typically immune to such tactics — they either cannot be moved by abilities or are unaffected by water in this way. The fact that Sigurd can be displaced into the water makes this strategy both effective and unusual.
