Genshin Impact Leak Teases New 5-Star Nefer for Version 6.1

A new leak from a trusted source in the Genshin Impact community suggests that Version 6.1 will introduce Nefer, a 5-Star Dendro Catalyst who will redefine how players interact with Dendro Cores. The Nod-Krai region is only beginning to unfold, but HoYoverse is already setting the stage for its unique Lunar Reactions, the signature combat mechanics of this new era.

Version 5.8 debuted Lunar-Charged with Ineffa, while Version 6.0 is expected to add Lunar-Bloom through the arrival of Lauma. Nefer, meanwhile, appears poised to push this mechanic even further in 6.1.

✨ Lauma vs. Nefer: Support and Hypercarry Roles

Lauma, a support-focused Dendro Catalyst, will arrive in Version 6.0. She boosts Lunar-Bloom for Nod-Krai teams or strengthens standard Bloom setups for existing Dendro comps, making her a strong partner for hypercarries like Nilou, Neuvillette, and the soon-to-debut Nefer.

By contrast, Nefer is designed to be a dedicated Lunar-Bloom hypercarry. Where Lauma amplifies, Nefer dominates — making the synergy between the two characters immediately clear. Players may choose to pair them together or slot Lauma with older carries while Nefer takes center stage.

⚔️ Nefer’s Kit and Controversial Mechanic

According to Uncle Kokomi, a reliable leaker in 2025, Nefer introduces a divisive twist to Bloom-based teams:

  • Dendro Cores Disabled → Nefer will block the creation of Dendro Cores, cutting her off from Bloom, Burgeon, and Hyperbloom teams.
  • Verdant Dew Mechanic → Like Lauma, Nefer collects Verdant Dews from Bloom triggers and spends them through her Elemental Skill.
  • Single Target Focus → Lunar-Bloom is reworked from an AoE reaction into a high-damage single-target tool, separating it from the standard Bloom reaction.

This design means Nefer won’t fit into traditional Dendro reaction teams, but instead pioneers a unique, standalone playstyle within Nod-Krai.

📅 Release Timing and Wishes Strategy

If the Nod-Krai roadmap is accurate, Nefer will be the only new 5-Star in Version 6.1. Players will have ample time during Version 6.0 to save Primogems, especially if they choose to skip the Sumeru Chronicled Banner.

Nefer and Lauma are expected to be the only Dendro characters in Nod-Krai, with Columbina — a rumored Hydro support — speculated for a later patch. For fans interested in Lunar Reactions, securing both Lauma (support) and Nefer (hypercarry) may be the strongest strategy moving forward.

✅ Final Take

If the leaks hold true, Nefer’s debut in Version 6.1 will transform the way players approach Dendro reactions. By shifting Bloom into a single-target, high-damage option and cutting ties with traditional Bloom teams, she introduces one of the most experimental kits Genshin Impact has seen.
