Display and Controls

The Legion Go 2 sports an 8.8-inch Lenovo PureSight OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate support, promising smoother visuals for both gaming and media.

Its detachable Legion Truestrike controllers have been redesigned for greater comfort and flexibility. The controllers now feature six programmable buttons—two positioned on the edge of the right controller and four on the rear of both modules. For added convenience, Lenovo has also introduced a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, a feature missing from the first-generation model.

Modes of Play

The handheld is designed with multiple playstyles in mind, offering:

  • Tablet Mode for portable use.
  • Console Mode, which works with an optional charging dock sold separately.
  • FPS Mode, tailored specifically for first-person shooters.

Performance Upgrades

Under the hood, the Legion Go 2 runs on the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, the same chip found in the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X. This 8-core, 16-thread APU is built on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture, combining three high-performance Zen 5 cores with five energy-efficient Zen 5c cores.

  • Base Clock: 2 GHz
  • Boost Clock (Performance Cores): Up to 5 GHz
  • Graphics: 16 compute units powered by RDNA 3.5 architecture, with boost speeds up to 2900 MHz

Design and Cooling

The Legion Go 2’s body features a new excimer coating, improving durability, reducing fingerprint smudges, and making maintenance simpler.
