SEGA Teases New Virtua Fighter Entry at EVO 2025

During EVO 2025, SEGA—alongside RGG Studio (best known for the Like a Dragon series)—unveiled a brief yet exciting gameplay teaser for the next chapter in the legendary Virtua Fighter franchise. The one-minute clip was also shared on the game's official YouTube channel, giving fans a first glimpse at what's in store.

Currently titled the “New Virtua Fighter Project,” the game remains in development with no confirmed release date.

The teaser highlighted features from the training mode, hinting at a polished and competitive core experience. SEGA also confirmed that more information about the project will be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, scheduled to run from September 25 to 28 in Japan.

This marks the first major update to the Virtua Fighter series since the release of Virtua Fighter 5, making this reveal a long-awaited moment for fans eager to see the return of one of gaming’s most iconic 3D fighters.
