American fighting game icon Dominique "SonicFox" McLean of Luminocity Gaming has added another milestone to an already legendary career, capturing their eighth EVO championship and a second title in Mortal Kombat 1.

At EVO Las Vegas 2025, SonicFox delivered a flawless performance, going undefeated through the winner’s bracket. In an intense Grand Final, they faced off against Chile’s Nicolas "Nicolas" Martinez, narrowly edging out a 3-2 victory in one of the weekend’s most thrilling matches.

With this win, SonicFox secured $12,000 in prize money and a coveted spot at Final Kombat 2025, the premier championship event for Mortal Kombat 1.

This victory brings SonicFox’s total EVO titles to eight—including five in the Mortal Kombat series, along with championships in Injustice, Skullgirls, and Dragon Ball FighterZ—cementing their place as one of the greatest in fighting game history.
