Fortnite Leak Hints at the Return of Mud in Chapter 6 Season 4

As Fortnite's superhero-themed season nears its end, players are already buzzing with anticipation for what’s coming next in Chapter 6 Season 4, set to launch this August. One of the most talked-about leaks suggests the return of mud, a feature last seen in Chapter 4 Season 3.

Mud Mechanics Might Be Making a Comeback

Popular Fortnite leaker Loolo_WRLD, working with fellow leaker blortzen, recently shared that mud could be reintroduced in the upcoming season. Originally introduced in the jungle biome of Chapter 4 Season 3, mud gave players a unique gameplay edge. Running or sliding through it covered players in mud, allowing for faster sliding and temporary camouflage against thermal weapons. It also helped avoid detection by certain wildlife.

If mud does return, it could signal a bigger role for thermal weapons and stealth mechanics in the new season—though Epic Games has yet to confirm any details.

Fantastic Four Collaboration Arrives in July

Before the new season begins, Fortnite players can look forward to a new Fantastic Four crossover event. Epic Games has announced “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which will introduce four new Marvel-themed skins. These cosmetics will be available in the Item Shop starting July 25.

For those eager to get them early—and for free—players can take part in the Fantastic Four Cup on July 23. To participate, players must team up in squads of four and play 10 matches, with rewards going only to the top-performing teams. Pricing for the skins, whether sold individually or as a bundle, has not yet been disclosed.

Simpsons Crossover and More on the Horizon

Looking further ahead, leakers have hinted at an exciting mini-season following Chapter 6 Season 4, which could feature a major collaboration with The Simpsons. The crossover may include a Springfield-themed map, bringing the iconic animated town to life in Fortnite.

This wouldn’t be Fortnite’s first venture into animated sitcoms. Earlier this year, skins based on characters from King of the Hill, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers were introduced—much to the delight of longtime fans of those series.
