Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Launches July 17 — New Features, Platforms, and Full Patch Notes Revealed

CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077’s long-awaited Update 2.3 will release on July 17, 2025, introducing a wide range of new features, vehicles, and system improvements. However, this rollout won’t hit all platforms simultaneously.

While PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and macOS users will receive the update on launch day, Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait—no date has been announced for their platform. Notably, this update also marks Cyberpunk 2077’s debut on macOS, with support for Steam, GOG, and Epic versions.

📅 Release Background

Originally slated for June 26, the 2.3 update was delayed just days before launch. With the new July 17 date now confirmed only 24 hours in advance, the update is effectively ready and another delay is highly unlikely.

CDPR had previously hinted that major updates were over, making both the 2.1 (December 2023) and 2.2 (2024) patches unexpected. The development of Update 2.3 was led primarily by Virtuos, the studio known for handling ports and co-development.

  • Delamain self-driving cabs: Unlockable after completing Don’t Lose Your Mind, these can now be called from anywhere.
  • CrystalCoat™ expansion: Now available on more vehicles, including motorcycles and select low-end models, thanks to a hacker twist. Some vehicles still don’t support it, such as job-specific or heavily modded rides.

⚠️ Mod Compatibility Warning

While the patch notes make no direct mention of modding, Update 2.3 will likely break many existing mods, particularly those affecting gameplay. Simpler mods like texture packs may still function, but script-heavy or system-altering mods will probably require updates.

✅ Final Thoughts

Update 2.3 marks another significant leap for Cyberpunk 2077, introducing rich customization, smarter driving systems, and expanded platform support—including macOS. However, Switch 2 users will need to wait a bit longer.

With CDPR continuing to refine Night City, it’s clear that the studio isn’t quite done yet—even if the road to Cyberpunk 2 is already being paved.
