Ken Masters Officially Joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Exciting news for fans of both SNK and Capcom—the two iconic developers have once again joined forces. This time, they're bringing Ken Masters from Street Fighter into SNK’s latest fighter, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. While the move was somewhat expected—thanks to a previously revealed DLC roadmap confirming both Ken and Chun-Li—this is the first time players have seen Ken in full action within the SNK universe.

From Rivals to Collaborators

Though long seen as rivals in the fighting game world, Capcom and SNK have recently embraced a more collaborative spirit. This renewed partnership was highlighted in the release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, which included entries from the classic SNK vs. Capcom series.

Capcom has also welcomed SNK’s legacy into its own titles, with Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui joining the roster of Street Fighter 6. Now, SNK is returning the favor by incorporating two of Capcom’s legendary fighters into City of the Wolves—starting with Ken.

Ken's Debut: New Trailer and Customization Options

Ken was first teased in concept art, but SNK has now officially unveiled him through a brand-new trailer. While a release date is still under wraps, fans can already see Ken in action—with familiar moves and flashy combos.

David Matranga, Ken’s Street Fighter 6 voice actor, reprises his role in City of the Wolves, and players will be able to choose between Ken’s modern look with the brown coat or his classic red gi, paying homage to his Street Fighter II origins.

Ken’s Moveset: A Blend of Classic and New

Ken brings with him a moveset that will be instantly recognizable to longtime fans. The trailer showcases:

  • Shoryuken
  • Hadoken
  • Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku
  • Dragonlash Kick (from SF6, featuring a side-switching aerial attack)
  • Shoryureppa, Shinryu Reppa, and new SNK-style variations of his Ignition and Redline Gear systems

These additions aim to blend Street Fighter’s fast-paced action with SNK’s signature visual style and mechanics.

A Boost for City of the Wolves?

Despite strong community reception, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has struggled commercially. The game's underwhelming sales even led to the resignation of SNK’s CEO. However, the arrival of Ken—and the upcoming addition of Chun-Li—could mark a turning point.

With Ken joining the fight later this summer, SNK is clearly betting on these high-profile crossovers to breathe new life into the title and attract a broader player base.
