Capcom presented financial report for the first quarter of 2020
July 30, 2020 ended the first quarter of the fiscal year for Capcom. The company reported a 53.7% increase in gaming revenue and a 52.6% increase in operating profit.
In the gaming industry, Monster Hunter World - Iceborn updates and remakes of Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 2 brought the most profits. The company also reported an increase in digital sales, which is not surprising given the situation with the pandemic in the world.
In addition to financial successes, Capcom shared the circulation of their projects. The remake of the third part of Resident Evil sold 2.7 million copies, and Monster Hunter World Iceborn was bought by 5.8 million players. With the expansion included, Monster Hunter World sold 16 million copies in 3 months.
Along with the demonstration of the financial report, the company updated the list of the best-selling games. The list of the most popular titles looks like this:
- Resident Evil - 103 million copies;
- Monster Hunter - 64 million copies
- Street Fighter - 45 million copies
- Mega Man - 36 million copies
- Devil May Cry - 22 million copies
- Dead Rising - 14 million copies.
