Netflix continues to film games
We recently wrote that Netflix is preparing a project based on the famous Splinter Cell series. Today they also announced the release of a full-fledged documentary series called High Score.
The films from the series will touch upon key representatives of the gaming industry. A six-episode miniseries will focus on titles from the late 20th century. So far, there is no complete list of games that are affected in the project, however, there are mentions of several of them. Netflix will feature Space Invaders, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man and Doom.
In High Score, in addition to the history of the episodes, Netflix will chat with people who have contributed to the creation of the aforementioned games. So, one of such specialists will be Yoshitaka Aman. He worked on character designs for Final Fantasy.
In addition to High Score, Netflix will release a documentary about the history of the PlayStation. They will interact with important company figures including Mark Cerny, Shinji Mikami, and Hideo Kojima. The release of the yet unnamed project is scheduled for September 7th.
