🔍 Blade: From Background Tease to Playable Hero?

Since Marvel Rivals launched, Blade has made subtle cameo appearances. In Season 1, he was spotted seemingly imprisoned by Dracula on the Central Park map. In Season 2, fans found him napping near a spawn point on the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map. However, the latest update has removed him entirely, leaving behind only his empty sleeping bag.

This change hasn’t gone unnoticed—and fans believe it’s a strong hint that the Daywalker is about to step into the spotlight.

🧠 Dev Tease Fuels Speculation

Executive Producer Danny Koo recently amplified the buzz by replying to a Marvel Rivals Twitter post that featured Jeff the Land Shark staring at Blade’s missing bedroll with a confused look. Koo quote-tweeted the image with just three 🤔 thinking emojis, sparking a flurry of theories that Blade’s playable debut is imminent.

🗡️ Blade's Likely Role in Season 3

Although official details are scarce, leaks suggest that Blade will be introduced as a Duelist-class hero focused on close-range combat. His loadout is rumored to include his signature sword and handguns, allowing him to dispatch foes with brutal efficiency.

Season 3 of Marvel Rivals is expected to begin after Season 2 concludes on July 10, making that the most likely window for Blade’s full reveal.

🔮 Why Now?

Despite ongoing delays with the Blade MCU reboot, the character’s popularity remains high—especially after Wesley Snipes' surprise cameo in last year’s Deadpool and Wolverine. Blade was also featured in Marvel’s Midnight Suns and will headline Arkane Studios’ upcoming Marvel’s Blade game.

It’s the perfect time for Marvel Rivals to bring Blade into the fray and capitalize on his momentum.
