Supercell’s action hit Squad Busters is about to go supersonic! A brand-new collaboration with SEGA’s legendary Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has been officially announced, and it's bringing beloved characters, a limited-time event, and major gameplay updates starting June 17, 2025.

🦔 New Hero: Sonic Joins the Squad

Leading the charge is Sonic himself, entering as a brand-new Speedster Hero. True to his legacy, Sonic boosts your Squad’s movement and attack speed and can activate his Power to transform into Super Sonic—making him briefly invincible.

Sonic’s Key Abilities:

• Power: Become Super Sonic, immune to damage for a short time.
• Trait: Charging Super Sonic gets faster with Turbo.
• Upgrades: Boosts HP and attack of other Speedsters as you level up.

If you enjoy fast-paced, aggressive strategies, Sonic will be a major game-changer.

🛠️ New Squaddies: Tails & Knuckles

Sonic isn’t coming alone—Tails and Knuckles are joining the roster as powerful new Squaddies:

🦊 Tails:

• Power: Fires a Laser Cannon while piloting his Cyclone Walker.
• If the Cyclone is destroyed, Tails continues fighting on foot.

🥊 Knuckles:

• Power: Digs underground to dodge attacks and bursts up with an area slam.
• Trait: Digs up loot during battles.
• Evolved Form: Finishes combos with a spiral uppercut.

Both Tails and Knuckles feature Baby, Classic, and Super forms, each upgrade unlocking stronger Powers and Traits.

🎟️ Sonic the Hedgehog Event Details

The Sonic Event kicks off on June 17 and will run for three weeks. During this time, players can:

• Collect Rings in battles, shops, and daily logins.
• Unlock Sonic first, then gather Hero Points to recruit Knuckles and Tails through Sonic’s Hero Journey.
• Encounter a special Dr. Eggman modifier, where his mobile drops into matches. Defeating him—especially in his Death Egg Robot form—earns bonus Rings and exclusive rewards.

⚕️ Sneak Peek: New Hero "Spike" Coming Soon

A new Hero is also on the horizon! Spike, the first-ever Healer Hero, is set to arrive later this summer. Though not part of the Sonic update, Spike will bring a brand-new support role into the Squad Busters meta, with his own Hero Journey in the works.

🔧 Other Updates in the June Patch

• Plaza Zoom-Out: Players can now zoom out the Plaza again.
• Hatchling Run Returns: Now with balance adjustments and an intense final round full of hatchlings.
• Battle Healer: Unlock her Ultimate Evolution.
• Bug Fixes: Includes a critical fix for an issue where Archer Queen could one-shot any Hero.
