What Is LEGO Fortnite Expeditions?

Originally launched on December 7, 2023, LEGO Fortnite started as a single mode but has since expanded into distinct experiences like LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and LEGO Fortnite Brick Life. The upcoming Expeditions mode promises to further enrich this universe with a new way to play.

While the official trailer offers limited details, Epic Games confirmed that Expeditions will be available to all players on June 18 and will be accessible through bus stations in both Odyssey and Brick Life. According to reputable Fortnite leakers, the mode is intended to be permanent.

Hero Classes: Starting with Shadow Caller

Alongside the launch of Expeditions, players will be introduced to Hero Classes—a brand-new feature in LEGO Fortnite. The first class revealed is called Shadow Caller, and it's only the beginning. Epic has stated that three Hero Classes will be available, though it hasn’t fully explained how they will function.

Fans speculate that these classes could resemble the Hero Items featured in Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 6, Season 3, possibly offering similar role-based gameplay dynamics.

AI NPCs Join LEGO Fortnite Brick Life

In a recent update to LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, two new AI-powered NPCs—Noir and Slurp Leviathan—have been added. These characters operate using the same advanced technology that previously brought an AI version of Darth Vader to Fortnite's Battle Royale.

However, unlike voice-interactive AI, these NPCs react contextually to in-game actions such as emotes or player behavior around them. They provide a new layer of immersion and dynamic storytelling in Brick Life.

Brick Editor Launching in Unreal Editor

As part of this LEGO Fortnite content push, Epic also announced the release of a LEGO Brick Editor in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) on June 17. This toolset includes 50 unique LEGO Bricks in 42 different colors, giving creators new freedom to design and build within Fortnite’s creative environment.
