Lies of P Expands with Dramatic Prequel DLC “Overture” — Available Now

Today, during Summer Game Fest 2025, the surprise release of the first story expansion Overture for Lies of P has taken place. The DLC is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at a price of $29.99.

Story and Setting

Overture is a dramatic prequel expansion that transports players to the final days of the city of Krat, engulfed in the chaos of the "Puppet Madness." Taking on the role of the puppet Geppetto, players explore yet untouched parts of the city, face new enemies, and uncover hidden secrets. The expansion promises 15-20 hours of new content, including unique bosses like a giant crocodile and new weapons such as claws reminiscent of Wolverine.

New Features and Updates

Alongside the DLC launch, the developers released a free update for the base game, adding:

• New difficulty levels: in addition to the standard Legendary Stalker, there are now Butterfly’s Guidance and Awakened Puppet modes for a more accessible experience.
• Death March mode: a series of consecutive boss battles with limited health and resources.
• Battle Memories: a feature allowing players to fight previously defeated bosses again on new difficulty levels.

Atmosphere and Details

One of the standout locations in the DLC is Carnival Gardens — a carnival park that remains intact, featuring working rides and mini-games. This setting contrasts with the devastated atmosphere of the main game and introduces new gameplay elements.

How to Start

To begin the Overture adventure, players must reach chapter 9 of the main game and defeat the Corrupted Parade Master. Then, by using the Stargazer item in the Path of the Pilgrim, they can enter the new temporal dimension.
