Path of Exile to Receive New Expansion "Secrets of the Atlas" — Announcement and Release Details

Developers at Grinding Gear Games have announced the release date for the next expansion to the original Path of Exile. The add-on, titled "Secrets of the Atlas," is set to launch on June 13, introducing a traditional challenge league with brand-new mechanics. The first details about the update will be revealed during a special livestream on Twitch scheduled for June 5.

This marks the first major content update for the original Path of Exile in quite some time. For reference, the previous league, "Kalguuran Settlers," launched back in July 2024. The lengthy delay was addressed by the developers, who cited a shortage of time and manpower due to their ongoing work on the early version of Path of Exile 2.

"Secrets of the Atlas" was initially slated for release in October 2024, then postponed to January–February 2025, but those deadlines were also missed. As a token of apology, the studio introduced a temporary in-game event called "Freki's Legacy," which reworked all 19 Ascendancy classes. The event ran until April 23.

During the upcoming presentation of "Secrets of the Atlas," viewers can expect Twitch Drops as a reward, allowing them to earn exclusive in-game items. The stream's duration has not been confirmed yet.

The new expansion aims to reinvigorate the original Path of Exile, offering exciting new content for both longtime fans and newcomers looking for a fresh gameplay experience.
