Helldivers 2 Leak: Super Earth Cities Are Real and Under Attack

So yeah, we’re officially entering the "you thought things were bad before?" era of Helldivers 2. Super Earth Mega Cities are real, and they’re getting smoked. A leaker, going by Iron_S1ghts, dropped five minutes of gameplay that show off what’s allegedly a preview of Super Earth’s massive urban zones. It’s grim: post-apocalyptic vibes, devastated buildings, and yes—SEAF troops in full deployment, fighting under a sky darkened by an Illuminate Overship.

“A preview of the ‘Mega Cities’ present on Super Earth. Cities are not exclusive to Super Earth, but it does have very large ones.”

The footage and accompanying screenshots give us a glimpse of the next stage in the war. While we’re busy pushing back bugs and bots on the outer planets, it looks like Arrowhead’s preparing to bring the battle right to our backyard. And if you were hoping these big shiny cities were just for show? Bad news: the buildings can be blown to bits, and each one has its own unique destruction model.

That’s right:

“Yep! Each building can be destroyed, and displays a unique model once it does.”

The leak also spills some new mission details for the upcoming Super Earth invasion. One mission called "Take Down Overship" involves activating a Planetary Defense Cannon to blast the sky-bound alien fortress out of existence. Sound over-the-top? Good. That’s the energy we need when the home front’s falling apart.

There’s more, too. Iron_S1ghts was asked whether there would be any new Illuminate units, and while nothing’s confirmed, there’s still hope:

“I’m hoping so, but I honestly have no idea. It’s a possibility though.”

They also mentioned that vehicles might be getting updated soon, including a new vehicle, though they admitted that the details might be a little outdated. The timeline? Allegedly May 20th, the next major update drop hinted at by PlayStation Czech Republic. Pencil that in—but keep the salt handy.

“To my knowledge, they will be receiving an update pretty close in the future. (New vehicle being added) But this may be outdated info now, not sure. We’ll see on May 20th.”

Now, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. This is a leak, not an announcement, so treat everything with caution. That said, the way this aligns with the ramp-up from the 01.003.000 Patch Notes is just a little too perfect. Arrowhead is pushing the story forward, and the writing’s all over the war-torn walls: Super Earth is the next frontline.

With planets like Widow’s Harbor, New Haven, and Palen V already marked as lost causes, it’s looking more and more like we’re going to have to fight to save the cities we once called home. Or at least make sure they don’t fall without a massive explosion and a few thousand dead squids.

If you're looking to prepare before things really go nuclear, now's the time to stock up on the best warbonds, refresh your stratagem loadout, and pick up the top throwables. And if you're coming back to Helldivers 2 after a break, don’t sleep on our tips for rejoining the chaos. You're going to need them.

The Illuminate are knocking on the door. Next stop? Our front lawn.
