Dead by Daylight x Witcher x FNAF: Geralt, Springtrap, and Pizza Deathtraps

Dead by Daylight is throwing a full-blown crossover party for its ninth anniversary, and Behaviour Interactive is bringing some absolute icons to the fog. In what might be the most unexpected mashup yet, the asymmetrical horror hit is teaming up with Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Witcher. Yes, Geralt of Rivia is sharing digital space with Springtrap, and somehow it just works.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s side of the crossover is a massive first for the franchise. Springtrap, the rotting rabbit-shaped villain known for terrorizing security guards in dark hallways, is joining Dead by Daylight as a new Killer. This is his first-ever playable appearance, and it looks like Behaviour is pulling out all the stops.

“Springtrap, the FNAF villain, will be the game's next Killer, joining as part of the next anniversary chapter. This marks the first time the character has been playable in a game.”

Not only that, but he’s getting a Legendary Outfit inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. That means the “Yellow Rabbit” version of Springtrap is coming in hot, complete with the voice and likeness of Matthew Lillard, who played William Afton in the film.

“A Springtrap Legendary Outfit will be released to match the Yellow Rabbit version of the character seen in the Blumhouse film adaptation - actor Matthew Lillard has lent his likeness and voice for this outfit.”

And of course, no FNAF crossover is complete without a fittingly creepy stage. The team confirmed that a map based on Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is on the way. Expect lots of flickering lights, arcade ambiance, and uncomfortable childhood nostalgia.

But wait, there’s more—because The Witcher is coming to Dead by Daylight too.

Instead of adding Geralt as a full-on Survivor (which honestly might’ve been too OP given what that man’s capable of), Behaviour is doing a bit of an outfit switcheroo. Survivor Vittorio Toscano will get a Geralt Legendary Outfit, with full white hair, monster hunter armor, and a few neat surprises.

“Our favourite of the Collection is of course Geralt’s Legendary Outfit for Vittorio Toscano,” said Dead by Daylight product director, Rose Li. “Not only will it let players essentially take on the exact look of The White Wolf, but we've also added some really nice details as part of this Outfit. Geralt will have unique lobby animations, and best of all, brand-new voice lines recorded for our game by the original voice actor, Doug Cockle.”

Yeah, they got Doug Cockle to record new lines just for this. Absolute win.

The Witcher crossover doesn’t stop with Geralt either. Outfits based on Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, and even Eredin are part of the collection, all arriving on June 3rd. So if you’ve ever wanted to dress like a witcher while getting stabbed by the Wraith, now’s your chance.

If all that wasn’t enough, Behaviour is also teasing the future of Dead by Daylight, and it looks... interactive. A new chapter is in development for 2026, and it’s being built with the community. Think Choose Your Own Adventure, but with hooks and screaming.

“An original chapter will feature a new Killer and Survivor with features voted on by players.”

Alongside the crossovers, Behaviour also took time during their PAX East stream to talk about quality of life. Upcoming improvements include more spectators in custom matches, queueing for matches during events, better anti-cheat, and changes to reduce the holy trinity of frustration: camping, slugging, and tunneling.

Plus, those new Dead by Daylight board game fans aren’t being left out. A new expansion was revealed back in April, bringing even more Killers and Survivors to the tabletop.

The Crossover Breakdown

To quickly recap what’s coming:

  • Springtrap (FNAF) joins as a new Killer
  • Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza becomes a playable map
  • Legendary Springtrap Outfit with Matthew Lillard voicing it
  • Geralt Outfit for Vittorio, voiced by Doug Cockle
  • Additional Witcher outfits: Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, Eredin
  • Witcher cosmetics drop June 3rd
  • 2026 Chapter will be community-designed
  • QoL fixes, anti-cheat, spectator mode, and more on the way

If you’ve somehow never heard of Five Nights at Freddy’s, it’s a horror game series where you play a night guard trying to survive murderous animatronics in a cursed pizza joint. The Witcher, on the other hand, is a dark fantasy franchise known for its monster-slaying protagonist Geralt, with roots in Polish novels and massive success in both RPG and Netflix form.

Seeing these two worlds crash into Dead by Daylight isn’t just weird, it’s awesome. Behaviour continues to lean into the chaos in all the right ways, and this anniversary update feels like a celebration that earns the hype.

Now let’s see if Springtrap can camp the exit gates better than Ghostface.
