Evil Dead: The Game Removed from Digital Stores
The developers of Evil Dead: The Game, a multiplayer horror experience rooted in the iconic Evil Dead franchise, have confirmed the removal of the title from all major digital stores. Pages for the game have already disappeared from both the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation Store.
The announcement was made today via an official message posted on the game’s Steam page:
"We can confirm that we’ve begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Players who have already purchased it will retain access, and we plan to keep the servers operational."
"We want to sincerely thank our community—those who have been with us since the beginning, and those who joined along the way. We truly appreciate all your support."— Saber Interactive
Released in 2022, Evil Dead: The Game offered asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay, allowing players to step into the shoes of humans—including Ash Williams himself—or demonic forces. The game had a strong launch, selling over 500,000 copies within its first five days. However, its momentum waned, and content updates ceased as early as 2023.
While the developers have not officially stated the reason behind the game’s removal, speculation points to possible licensing issues related to the Evil Dead intellectual property.
