Elena’s Healing Returns in Street Fighter 6—But It Might Not Break the Game This Time
If you’ve been around the Street Fighter scene for a while, you probably flinched when you saw the new trailer drop this week. Yep, Elena is back—and so is her infamous healing move.
In the latest trailer for Street Fighter 6, we finally got a good look at Elena in action as the final Year 2 DLC character. She’s flashy, she's fast, she’s still the queen of Capoeira... but right at the end of the trailer, they teased her healing again.
"Instead of giving her healing over time while remaining stationary, Revival Dance starts with a combo that has Elena launching herself forward with a flurry of kicks."
After the absolute nightmare that was Elena’s healing in Street Fighter IV, you can imagine why people are side-eyeing this move already.

The Problem With Healing Moves in Fighting Games
When Elena first showed up with Healing as her Ultra Combo II in Street Fighter IV, it basically turned matches into marathons. If you played her right, she could heal huge chunks of her health and completely drag fights out.
Players learned to time the Healing perfectly, opening up insane comeback potential that felt cheap and frustrating to fight against.
This time around in Street Fighter 6, though, things seem a little different.
"Considering you now need to hit your opponents with Revival Dance to activate Elena’s healing skill, Capcom may be on the right track when it comes to balancing the character before Year 3 begins."
Instead of standing still and regaining health, Elena has to land a combo first, and then decide whether to keep up the pressure or take a quick heal. That adds risk, and that’s a good thing.

Elena’s Release and Street Fighter 6’s Big Picture
Elena officially drops June 5 for Street Fighter 6, across PC, PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
It's been a wild ride for Street Fighter 6 already—between the World Tour mode, new characters, crazy custom fighters, and the Year 2 reveals, Capcom has definitely been experimenting. Bringing back a legacy character like Elena, especially with her divisive toolkit, shows that Capcom is willing to take risks... but they (hopefully) learned some lessons from SFIV.

Street Fighter's Female Characters: A Cultural Force
Since 1987, Street Fighter hasn’t just been about hadoukens and shoryukens—it’s also delivered some of the most iconic women in gaming. Chun-Li basically invented the concept of strong, stylish female fighters in video games. Cammy, Juri, and even newer additions like Kimberly have become cultural icons, too.
Their impact stretches way beyond gaming. Chun-Li’s design influenced fashion and cosplay for decades. Juri’s crazy fanbase keeps growing thanks to her wild energy and chaotic bad-girl vibes. And Cammy? Still setting the gold standard for military waifu energy.
When people talk about representation, strength, and character design in games, Street Fighter’s women are always part of that conversation.

Ranking the Most Beautiful Girls in Street Fighter
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Street Fighter conversation without arguing over who the prettiest fighter is. Here’s a very important (and obviously totally scientific) ranking based on overall fan votes, cultural impact, and style:
Character | Game Title | Score |
Chun-Li | Street Fighter II (1991) | 9.8 |
Cammy | Super Street Fighter II (1993) | 9.6 |
Juri | Super Street Fighter IV (2010) | 9.5 |
Elena | Street Fighter III (1997) | 9.2 |
Rose | Street Fighter Alpha (1995) | 9.0 |
Ibuki | Street Fighter III (1997) | 8.8 |
Sakura | Street Fighter Alpha 2 (1996) | 8.7 |
Menat | Street Fighter V (2017) | 8.6 |
Chun-Li still reigns supreme—no surprise there—but Elena holds a respectable fourth place. That’s not just because she’s beautiful; her smooth, acrobatic animations and joyful vibe make her one of the most visually striking characters in the series.

No Limit Button
It’s honestly great to see Street Fighter 6 still swinging for the fences, even if it means bringing back controversial moves like Elena’s Healing.
If Capcom manages to keep it balanced, Revival Dance could add a fresh strategic layer without breaking the game like Healing did before.
And hey, no matter what happens, it’s just nice to have another stylish, powerful woman back in the roster.
Elena’s bringing the heat and the heart this time around—and personally? I can’t wait to dance all over my friends (and heal a cheeky little bit while I'm at it).
