CD Projekt Red Warns Fans of “The Witcher 4 Beta Test” Scam

CD Projekt Red has issued a warning to fans after reports emerged of fraudulent invitations circulating online for a beta test of The Witcher 4. The studio has firmly stated that no such test exists, and labeled the invitations as scams targeting unsuspecting players.

Despite the long-standing anticipation surrounding The Witcher 4—which is expected to shift its focus to Ciri rather than Geralt—there is no confirmed release date or public build available. Still, with fan excitement running high, some players have reportedly been misled into believing a closed beta was underway.

🚨 No Witcher 4 Beta in Progress

In response to growing confusion, CD Projekt Red addressed the issue directly via the official Witcher account on X (formerly Twitter):

“Recently, we’ve been getting reports from some community members that they’ve been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4. This is a scam.”

The studio emphasized that they are actively working to take down these fraudulent messages and urged players to report any suspicious communications they encounter.

🔒 No Multiplayer, No Beta

Given that The Witcher 4 is expected to continue the series’ single-player legacy—and with no multiplayer features announced—a beta test at this stage would be highly unlikely. CD Projekt Red reaffirmed that any future announcements regarding legitimate testing opportunities will always come through their official channels.

“Should we ever organize any beta tests in the future, you will hear about it first, as always, via our official social media and websites.”

📅 What We Know So Far

While CD Projekt Red has confirmed The Witcher 4 is in development, details remain scarce. The first cinematic teaser premiered at The Game Awards 2024, but no gameplay or further updates have been revealed.

For now, fans are advised to stay vigilant and rely solely on verified announcements as development on the next chapter of the Witcher saga continues.
