Dune: Awakening Release Delayed Until June 10

Funcom has announced a delay for the release of its survival MMO Dune: Awakening. Originally scheduled to launch on May 20, the game will now be released on June 10. Players who purchase the premium editions will gain early access starting June 5.

According to the developers, the delay is intended to give the team more time to implement feedback from closed beta testers. The studio noted that the extra three weeks will allow them to introduce necessary improvements to ensure a higher quality experience at launch.

“This decision wasn’t easy for us, as we know how eagerly you are waiting for the game. However, the additional three weeks will allow us to make the improvements needed to deliver a better experience from day one,” Funcom stated.

Alongside the delay announcement, Funcom also shared some updates on the game's upcoming promotional activities:

• On April 25, the first press previews will be published, offering early impressions of the game. Currently, hundreds of journalists and content creators are exploring the large-scale beta version of Dune: Awakening.
• In May, Funcom will host beta weekends, inviting even more players to join the testing phase. More details will be revealed soon.
• A livestream will be held today on Twitch and YouTube, where the developers will discuss the game’s combat system in more detail.

The team highlights the ambitious nature of Dune: Awakening, describing it as a “massive survival MMO unlike anything the genre has seen before,” and emphasizing their commitment to a smooth and polished launch.

The game will first be available on PC via Steam, with later releases planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
