FragPunk Launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on April 29 — Console Players to Receive Bonus Rewards for the Delay

Bad Guitar Studio has announced a new release date for the console version of the free-to-play shooter FragPunk — the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on April 29. Initially, the console release was planned to coincide with the PC launch, but the ports were delayed at the last minute without explanation.

FragPunk is a competitive 5v5 shooter known for its unique Shard Cards — special modifiers that change the rules of combat on the fly. There are over 150 different shards, each capable of drastically altering the flow of a match, often creating surprising and humorous situations. The game also features a variety of heroes, maps, and game modes, with weekly content rotations.

According to the developers, the console versions have been carefully optimized for controller gameplay, including aim assist and cross-progression support, allowing players to carry their progress across platforms. As a gesture of goodwill for the delay, all PS5 and Xbox Series players will receive rewards that were available since the PC launch, including bonuses from limited-time events in the first season.

Additionally, those who purchase the Pioneer Bundle on consoles will get extra gifts.

For reference, FragPunk was released on Steam on March 6 and received mostly positive reviews, with 73% of players giving it a thumbs-up, praising its original mechanics and fast-paced gameplay.
