Split Fiction Players Conquer Laser Hell, Win Exclusive Trip to Hazelight
Some challenges in gaming are designed to test patience, skill, and maybe even sanity. Split Fiction’s “Laser Hell” is exactly that – a brutal five-stage gauntlet hidden within the Isolation chapter.
The level requires pinpoint precision, near-perfect teamwork, and a ridiculous amount of skill. Even the game’s own developers struggle to complete it.
But two players, E1uM4y and Sharkov, not only found Laser Hell but also conquered it. Their reward? A personal message from Split Fiction director Josef Fares, who was genuinely impressed:
"Wow, amazing. This challenge, there are barely people on our team that can make it... It took us a lot of time to finish it... This is a crazy, crazy achievement."
A Promise Kept
Fares wasn’t just handing out virtual praise. He had made a promise: the first players to beat Laser Hell would be invited to Hazelight’s studio in Sweden for an exclusive look at the company’s next game. And he’s following through.
“Congrats to sharkOvO and E1uM4y for finishing the secret challenge Laser Hell in Split Fiction,” Fares wrote on social media. “VERY impressive! I will keep my promise and invite you both to Sweden for an early look at our next game. We’ll be in touch!”
As for what Hazelight is working on, it’s still a mystery. Fares recently mentioned on the Friends Per Second podcast that the game is only about a month into development. But given Hazelight’s track record with games like It Takes Two and now Split Fiction, expectations are high.
Split Fiction itself continues to soar. Since launching earlier this month, it has sold over 2 million copies and received glowing reviews, with some calling it one of the best co-op games ever made.
One thing’s for sure – whatever Hazelight is cooking up next, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
