Remedy Reveals FBC: Firebreak – A Standalone Co-op Shooter in the Control Universe

Remedy Entertainment has unveiled a brand-new trailer for FBC: Firebreak, a three-player co-op shooter set within the surreal world of Control. Players will step into the shoes of agents from the Firebreak division of the Federal Bureau of Control, tasked with restoring order inside the ever-shifting Oldest House.

Their mission? Deal with reality-bending chaos caused by the Hiss — including self-replicating office sticky notes, sentient mold, and all sorts of bizarre phenomena lurking in both familiar and unexplored corners of the Bureau’s headquarters.

While Firebreak is closely tied to the Control and Alan Wake storylines, the game is designed as a fully standalone experience. New players can jump in without prior knowledge and still enjoy the game, while long-time fans will appreciate the deeper lore connections.

Unlike many modern co-op titles, FBC: Firebreak will not include battle passes, seasons, or microtransactions. Remedy has committed to a clear and focused vision, with all post-launch content being completely free — a refreshing move in today’s live-service-heavy market.

FBC: Firebreak is set to launch this summer on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and will also be available day one via Xbox Game Pass.
