Tetris 99’s 46th Maximus Cup Teams Up with Xenoblade Chronicles X

Nintendo has officially announced that Tetris 99’s 46th Maximus Cup will feature a crossover with Xenoblade Chronicles X, and the event is arriving sooner than expected.

The Maximus Cup is a recurring competition in Tetris 99, first introduced in March 2019. Players earn points by competing in matches, and the top 999 players typically receive My Nintendo Gold Points along with a special in-game theme based on the featured crossover. Previous themes have included Fire Emblem, Pokémon, and Super Kirby Clash.

Tetris 99 Meets Xenoblade Chronicles X

Originally released in 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles X is part of the Xeno metaseries, set on the vast open-world planet of Mira. Players embark on quests, unlock new regions, gather resources, and defend humanity as part of the BLADE unit.

Meanwhile, Tetris 99, developed by Arika and Nintendo, has become one of the most unique Nintendo Switch exclusives, bringing the battle royale format to the classic puzzle game.
