Goddess of Victory: Nikke Hits $1 Billion in Revenue After Two Years

More than two years after its release, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the mobile game developed by South Korean studio Shift Up (the creators of Stellar Blade), has officially surpassed $1 billion in revenue, according to PocketGamer.biz. The milestone was reached on Valentine’s Day, though this was purely coincidental and not driven by increased player spending.

A Strong Financial Performance

Since its November 2022 launch, Goddess of Victory: Nikke has demonstrated impressive financial success:

  • Year 1 Earnings: $553 million
  • Year 2 Earnings: $344 million

While revenue saw a slight decline in the second year, the game continued to generate substantial income.

Peak Earnings and Monthly Performance

The most profitable period for the game was its launch month, when it brought in a record-breaking $106.8 million. Since then, monthly revenue has never exceeded $70 million.

Regional Revenue Distribution

  • Japan leads in spending, contributing $592.3 million (58% of total revenue).
  • The United States ranks second, accounting for $175.4 million (17%).
  • South Korea follows closely with $170.8 million (17%).
  • All other countries combined make up less than 1% of total earnings.

What’s Next for Shift Up?

Despite its success, Goddess of Victory: Nikke has seen a gradual decline in revenue. In response, Shift Up is developing a new gacha game under the working title Project Witches for PC, consoles, and mobile devices. The official announcement is expected by June, with a planned release in 2027.

With Goddess of Victory: Nikke continuing to perform well and Project Witches on the horizon, Shift Up remains a key player in the mobile gaming industry.
