So far, EA has kept most details under wraps, but it’s confirmed that the next Battlefield will be set in modern-day warfare, bringing back traditional classes and more structured map design after the controversial changes in Battlefield 2042. While the exact setting remains a mystery, some players have analyzed concept art and speculated that the game could take place in Gibraltar.

Battlefield Labs Playtest Leaks Gameplay

With the first phase of Battlefield Labs now live—billed as the franchise’s "most ambitious community testing program"—it was only a matter of time before leaks started appearing. EA is already scrambling to take down unauthorized gameplay clips, but some footage continues to circulate.

So far, leaked videos showcase multiplayer matches in Conquest mode, taking place in a dense, urban environment resembling a North African city. The footage also highlights the return of destructible environments, a classic Battlefield feature that many fans felt was lacking in Battlefield 2042.

More Playtests, More Leaks?

Beyond Conquest mode, EA has confirmed that upcoming playtests will include:

  • Breakthrough mode
  • The revamped class system
  • New gameplay innovations

Given the scale of testing and the anticipation surrounding the game, it’s almost inevitable that more leaks will emerge. However, this might not be entirely negative for EA—especially if the early gameplay impressions continue trending positively compared to Battlefield 2042’s troubled launch.

EA Aims for a Balanced Battlefield Experience

In a recent community update, EA emphasized its goal of blending the best elements from past titles while modernizing mechanics:

"Within Battlefield Labs, we're focused on refining the best elements from past titles, modernizing them, and validating if they feel fun and rewarding, and have the right balance between intuitive control and dynamic combat. Our goal is to offer gameplay that rewards skill with precise weapon feedback and movement options for veterans, while providing an intuitive experience for new players to learn and enjoy."

When Will Battlefield Get a Full Reveal?

While EA has yet to announce an official reveal date, the company previously confirmed that the next Battlefield installment is expected to launch before April 2026. Until then, all eyes are on the Battlefield Labs playtests—whether EA likes it or not.
