GTA Online PC Players Wrongfully Charged 2,000,000 GTA$ for "Free" Karin S95

PC players diving into the Enhanced Edition of Grand Theft Auto Online have encountered a frustrating bug—being charged nearly 2,000,000 GTA$ for the Karin S95, a vehicle that was supposed to be free.

The Enhanced Edition of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online finally launched on PC on March 4, following its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release in 2022. While the update brings significant graphical improvements, including ray tracing, enhanced shadows, and reflections, its rollout has been far from smooth.

PC Players Overcharged for the Karin S95

One of the most notable issues involves the Karin S95, which was advertised as a free reward for players upgrading to the Enhanced Edition. According to the game, players who complete the initial race for Hao’s Special Works should receive a message from Hao, instructing them to claim the S95 for free via Southern San Andreas Super Autos.

However, despite the vehicle being listed as $0, players are being unexpectedly charged nearly 2,000,000 GTA$ upon purchase. Reddit user RogueTaco posted a video showing this exact issue, and many others have since confirmed experiencing the same bug.

  • Austinqueezy: "It just happened to me."
  • Enkrasia22: "It took $1,995,000 from my account, even though it was marked as free."

Many players voiced their frustrations, calling the issue "very annoying"—but there’s a silver lining. Reports suggest that Rockstar Games is issuing refunds, with one player, Everything_must_go2, sharing a confirmation email from Rockstar Support stating they were reimbursed 2,000,000 GTA$.

GTA Online PC Update Also Removes Text Chat

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only issue with the PC Enhanced Edition. Many players have noticed that text chat is now missing, making it impossible to communicate in public lobbies without a microphone.

Unlike the Legacy Edition, where text chat was a core feature, its absence has led to hundreds of negative reviews from frustrated players. It remains unclear whether this is a deliberate removal or an unintended bug, but it has further soured the experience for those jumping into the latest update.

Rockstar Yet to Address Key Issues

As of now, Rockstar has not officially acknowledged the missing text chat or provided an explanation for the Karin S95 pricing glitch. While refunds for the vehicle issue appear to be happening, many players are still waiting for an official fix.

Despite these setbacks, Grand Theft Auto Online continues to thrive, but PC players are hoping Rockstar quickly resolves these major issues to bring the experience up to par with its console counterparts.
