In early 2023, the company allowed custom map creators to develop their own versions of Athena Island (the Chapter 1 map). However, these recreations didn't quite meet expectations, as many weren't exact replicas and the Battle Royale mechanics didn’t function as smoothly in Creative mode.

Then, in November 2023, Epic introduced the first edition of Fortnite OG, a short-lived Battle Royale season set on Athena Island. However, this version only lasted four weeks before being replaced by Chapter 5. In June 2024, Epic launched Fortnite Reload, offering a reworked version of the island in a 40-player match format with 10 squads and unlimited reboots until the late game.

Finally, in December 2024, Epic Games introduced a fully dedicated Fortnite OG mode, featuring its own Battle Pass and seasonal structure, similar to the main game mode. Chapter 1 Season 1 kicked off on December 6 and will conclude on January 31. Season 2 will launch immediately after, bringing back some of the most iconic named locations in Fortnite history. Now, players no longer have to wonder what the updated map will look like—Epic Games has officially unveiled it.

Named Locations in Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2

  • Junk Junction
  • Haunted Hills
  • Pleasant Park
  • Anarchy Acres
  • Wailing Woods
  • Tomato Town
  • Lonely Lodge
  • Dusty Depot
  • Snobby Shores
  • Tilted Towers
  • Greasy Grove
  • Salty Springs
  • Retail Row
  • Shifty Shafts
  • Fatal Fields
  • Moisty Mire
  • Flush Factory

While some of these locations were already present in Season 1, Season 2 brings back several fan-favorites. Perhaps the most exciting return is Tilted Towers, one of the most iconic and competitive drop spots in Fortnite’s history. Players eager for intense early-game battles now know exactly where to land.

With Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 bringing back so many legendary locations, it's shaping up to be one of the most nostalgic seasons yet. Whether you're revisiting old favorites or experiencing them for the first time, there's plenty of excitement ahead.
