Who Boosts Elon Musk in PoE? Fraud Exposed of the Self-Proclaimed 'Top Player’
Elon Musk, known for his groundbreaking ventures in technology and space exploration, has recently found himself at the center of a heated gaming controversy. During an interview with Joe Rogan, Musk claimed he was the best player in the world at StarCraft and Diablo. Rogan expressed astonishment, and the gaming community was abuzz with discussions about Musk’s self-proclaimed genius extending even into competitive gaming.
Musk began playing the action RPG Path of Exile, where his account quickly rose to the top 9 rankings globally. He even started live-streaming his gameplay on Twitter, drawing significant attention from fans and gamers alike.
However, skepticism soon arose. Professional gamers analyzed Musk’s gameplay and account progression, leading to accusations that he had not leveled up the account himself. Musk had hired someone to boost his account. This revelation sparked outrage, as it suggested systematic dishonesty in his portrayal of gaming prowess.
The controversy escalated when popular gaming commentator Asmongold shared his perspective on the situation. Another video by the YouTuber Penguinz dissected the drama, garnering nearly 5 million views. Public discourse around Musk’s actions intensified as these videos spread across platforms.
In response, Musk retaliated by removing Asmongold’s blue verification checkmark on Twitter. He also published private messages with the blogger without consent, drawing widespread criticism for crossing ethical boundaries. Although the blue checkmark was later reinstated, the "gamer" tag was permanently removed, further fueling the controversy.
The gaming community has reached a broader conclusion: if Musk uses deceitful methods to craft an image of excellence through high gaming rankings, could he be employing similar tactics in other fields? This open question now lingers as the latest layer in the ongoing debate about the integrity behind Musk’s achievements.

With all due respect to the PoE gaming community, those who put effort into this investigation, and those affected, I find it amusing that there’s likely a player out there who proudly holds the hidden title of “Elon Musk’s Booster.”
