Honkai: Star Rail Unveils Version 3.0, Launching January 15

Exciting news for Honkai: Star Rail fans! Version 3.0 of the popular open-world RPG is set to launch on January 15, bringing new characters, a fresh location, and plenty of updates to kick off 2025. This update marks a significant moment as players leave the iconic Penacony region to explore Amphoreus, the game's newest world.

Farewell to Penacony, Hello to Amphoreus

The recently concluded Version 2.7, which debuted in December 2024, wrapped up the adventures in Penacony. It introduced two five-star characters, Sunday and Fugue, alongside returning favorites Jing Yuan and Firefly. Players also enjoyed new Lightcones, missions, events, and updates to game modes like Divergent Universe and Memory of Chaos.

Now, Version 3.0 takes the spotlight, opening the doors to the stunning world of Amphoreus. This new location will serve as the setting for the game’s longest story arc yet, spanning Versions 3.0 through 3.7. Players can anticipate a range of fresh characters, six new Lightcones, and unique items such as Variable Dice and Wishful Resin.

New Characters in Version 3.0

With the update, Honkai: Star Rail introduces three new five-star characters:

• The Herta (Ice/Erudition): Available January 14 – February 5
• Aglaea (Lightning/Remembrance): Banner expected to run February 5 – February 25
• Trailblazer (Ice/Remembrance): Features a unique ability to summon Mem, a creature that aids allies with true damage when its meter fills.

Returning characters like Silver Wolf, Robin, Boothill, Jade, Feixiao, and Lingsha will also feature in rerun banners.

Version 3.0 brings six new Lightcones to enhance gameplay:

• Into the Unreachable Veil (Erudition)
• Time Woven into Gold (Remembrance)

4-Star Lightcones

• Victory in a Blink (Remembrance)

Additional Highlights

To complement the new content, HoYoverse has partnered with Ikura from YOASOBI to produce a fresh main theme for Amphoreus, adding a musical touch to the update. Additionally, a physical release of Honkai: Star Rail is planned for late January, allowing fans to own a copy just in time to dive into Version 3.0’s expansive offerings.
