In its first year, GTA 6 is expected to generate $3.2 billion in revenue, double the amount GTA 5 made. According to the Financial Times, citing analysts from DFC Intelligence, a research group specializing in video games, the game’s pre-orders alone are projected to bring in $1 billion. Estimates suggest that the development costs for Grand Theft Auto VI range from hundreds of millions to $2 billion, including post-launch content updates.
