Although Trailer 2 wasn't released in 2024, it doesn't mean that GTA 6 has been delayed
A Twitter user under the pseudonym Detective shared an analytical opinion regarding the potential delay of GTA 6, rumors of which began sharing in the second half of 2024.
His clarification that the absence of GTA 6 Trailer 2 in 2024 doesn’t necessarily mean a delay, citing Rockstar’s past timelines for GTA 5 and RDR2:
“Just because Trailer 2 didn’t release in 2024 doesn’t mean that GTA 6 has been delayed.
Rockstar released Trailer 2 for GTA 5 only 5–6 months before its original release date, and for RDR2 we only got info 5 months before the first planned Fall 2017 release. There’s still time.”
Additionally, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier expressed his skepticism, stating he’d be surprised if the game launched on time. While neither the developers nor the publishers of the upcoming GTA have commented on these rumors, their silence could be interpreted as part of a marketing strategy.
People are revisiting the first and only trailer for the game, which currently has 230 million views, compared to GTA V's Trailer 1 with 115 million and RDR2's with 26 million.
Due to the lack of official updates about the new game from Rockstar Games, fans have started crafting conspiracy theories about the release date of the next trailer. A popular claim that Trailer 2 would drop on December 27 turned out to be false, with the aforementioned user calling it top-level trolling from Rockstar.
