Exciting Tease: New GTA 6 Images and Cover Art May Drop Soon as Rockstar Hints at Upcoming Reveal!
Recent developments in Rockstar Games' API hint at the possible release of new images for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar first unveiled this latest installment through a trailer in December 2023, which quickly shattered viewership records on YouTube. Now, five months later, eager fans are hoping for fresh details about the game, and it seems their patience might soon be rewarded.
Grand Theft Auto 6, set in the vibrant, neon-lit streets of Vice City in the fictional state of Leonida, marks the franchise's return 12 years after the launch of GTA 5. The initial reveal showcased the game's stunningly realistic visuals, expansive open-world environment, and introduced two main characters, Lucia and Jason. While there have been rumors about the casting of these characters, Rockstar has remained tight-lipped.
However, new hints are emerging. A fan-created Twitter bot, which monitors Rockstar Games' API for GTA 6-related updates, recently detected four new URLs that suggest upcoming content releases, possibly including screenshots and key art for the game. These URLs currently display a 404 error, indicating that the content is not yet live.
Further signs of imminent updates come from Rockstar's own social media behavior. The company recently cleared its Instagram feed, retaining only posts related to GTA 6 and the latest GTA Online DLCs—a move reminiscent of their actions prior to the first trailer’s release. This activity coincides with parent company Take-Two's earnings call scheduled for May 16, hinting at a potential pattern in Rockstar's announcement strategy.
With these clues in place, speculation suggests that new screenshots and possibly the cover art for GTA 6 could be unveiled shortly, especially considering the timing aligns with Take-Two's upcoming financial disclosures. Officially, GTA 6 is expected to launch in 2025.
