Witcher 3 Bug Turns Geralt into Speedster: Lightning-Fast Combat in Latest Glitch
A Witcher 3 player encountered a bug that caused Geralt of Rivia to move and attack with incredible speed, using swift motions to eliminate an enemy without suffering any damage. The player recorded this experience in a short video clip, demonstrating Geralt sprinting towards the target before executing a flawless combo in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Despite the initial release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in May 2015, CD Projekt Red has continuously made enhancements, especially with the game's next-gen update in December 2022. This major re-release brought numerous visual improvements, including global illumination, ambient occlusion, ray-tracing capabilities, and various mods aimed at enhancing the overall game quality. Even with substantial graphical improvements, CD Projekt has remained committed to making adjustments, and update 4.04 addressed several issues. This shows the developer's dedication to The Continent, not only concentrating on fixes for Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion.
However, despite the substantial improvements introduced in The Witcher 3 through update 4.04, players still encounter glitches and bugs. One such instance comes from a Reddit user, Sludgy101, who experienced a bug that doubled Geralt's movement speed in the game. They shared a clip of this bug, featuring Geralt moving at lightning speed as he confronts a Golem. Sludgy101 proceeds to engage the Golem, executing a continuous, rapid attack that effectively immobilizes the enemy. Geralt successfully defeats the enemy without sustaining any damage. This all unfolds in a 20-second clip, concluding with Sludgy101 looting their defeated adversary.
While Sludgy101's video displays a bug that gives Geralt the agility of a character like The Flash from DC Comics, some suspect the use of a cheat engine. Speculation arises from comments on Sludgy101's post, with one mentioning a "cheat engine speed cheat." In response, Sludgy101 states, "I don't have any cheat engine; this is all from the game," followed by a laughing emoticon. This suggests that even after addressing graphical and performance aspects, The Witcher 3 may still have unresolved glitches.
Although there is a mod that increases Geralt's movement speed, it may not be related to the bug in question. The mod, "Faster Movement for Geralt," is available through Nexus Mods and can be used to replicate Geralt's rapid movements seen in the video.
While players can install numerous mods to enhance their Witcher 3 experience, bugs like the high-speed Geralt can create memorable moments for fans of the CD Projekt Red title.
