Since the original Resident Evil's debut in 1996, there has been a continuous stream of new releases nearly every year. The unbroken streak initiated with the Resident Evil 2 remake in 2019, followed by the Resident Evil 3 remake in 2020, Resident Evil Village in 2021, the Resident Evil Re:Verse multiplayer game in 2022, and most recently, the Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023.

Speculation also circulates about a potential remake of Resident Evil 5, among other main series games. However, fans are advised to await official announcements before getting too enthusiastic.

While no new Resident Evil game for 2024 has been confirmed, Capcom has announced the re-release of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Set for release on February 20, Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition will include the base game, the Separate Ways expansion, and several DLC items, offering fans a chance to revisit and explore the acclaimed title.
