The September PlayStation Plus Essential games are now available for purchase
In September, subscribers to PlayStation Plus Essential will have access to the following games: Saints Row (PS5, PS4), Black Desert – Traveler Edition (PS4), and Generation Zero (PS4). These games will be available for purchase until October 3rd.
PlayStation Plus Essential is the basic level of membership in PlayStation Plus, providing access to several free games each month.
Higher-tier PlayStation Plus levels, such as Extra and Premium, were introduced last summer and offer subscribers access to the Game Catalogue, which includes over 400 downloadable games for PS4 and PS5, as well as Ubisoft+ Classics, a collection of games from the Assassin's Creed publisher.
Premium subscribers gain access to additional benefits such as trial versions of games, cloud streaming, and access to the Classics Catalogue, which includes hundreds of games from the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PSP.
Changes in pricing were announced at the beginning of the month, along with plans to increase the cost of the PlayStation Plus subscription by 35%.
Starting on September 6th, the cost of annual subscription plans for Essential, Extra, and Premium levels will be increased, with prices varying from $20 to $40/ £10 to £20/ €12 to €32 depending on the chosen membership level.
"This price change will allow us to continue offering high-quality games and additional bonuses to your PlayStation Plus subscription," said Adam Michel, Director of Content Acquisition and Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Existing annual subscribers will be transitioned to the new prices after their next renewal date, which will take place on November 6th, or after that date if they make changes to their subscription, such as upgrading or downgrading their membership level.
