The release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been postponed to the second half of 2024
The sequel to the 2011 hack-and-slash game Space Marine was announced at The Game Awards in 2021, followed by a gameplay reveal at The Game Awards in 2022.
Another trailer was showcased at this year's Summer Game Fest, promising a release "this winter."
However, an update from Focus Entertainment regarding their upcoming releases, as noticed by PCGamesN, mentions a delay in the game's release, with the specific date set to be revealed in December.
"Focus Entertainment will announce the official release date of the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - an iconic Games Workshop license - in early December," stated Focus.
"The game is now set to launch in the second half of 2024, to allow ample time for thorough polishing and to create an exceptional gaming experience.
"Focus Entertainment aims to release a game of the highest quality that surpasses the expectations of the franchise's multi-million audience. Space Marine 2 has already amassed over a million wishlists."
Considering that all three major trailers for the game were featured at shows hosted by Geoff Keighley, all signs point to Space Marine 2's release date being revealed at this year's edition of The Game Awards, taking place on December 7.
Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Larian, has already confirmed they will also announce the release date for the Xbox Series X/S version of their game during The Game Awards.
