The "New Game Plus" mode for Spider-Man 2 is being delayed until early 2024
On social media, PlayStation posted a message expressing the desire to dedicate more time to testing an update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This update will introduce features such as replaying missions, altering the time of day, and other functions players have been anticipating. The team is diligently working to enhance these features and requires additional time for testing to ensure the game's quality. The update is scheduled for an early 2024 release, with a comprehensive list of completed features expected before the launch. They also promise to add desired features, including the ability to change the time of day and replay missions.
According to reports, Tony Todd, the voice actor for Venom in Spider-Man 2, mentioned that 90% of his character's dialogue didn't make it into the final version of the game. It remains unclear whether the studio removed a significant amount of content from the game or planned to use the extra dialogue for potential DLC or a separate part of the game.
In an interview published before the release of Spider-Man 2 in October, Jon Paquette, the Senior Narrative Director at Insomniac, told Insider that fan feedback would heavily influence the series' development and the potential release of a standalone game featuring Venom.
