The first review of Sonic Superstars has been published
The fresh review in the Japanese publication, Weekly Famitsu, has sent shockwaves through the internet! Sonic Superstars has received glowing accolades from all four critics, accumulating a total score of 32 out of 40. The unanimous 8-point rating from each expert testifies to the brilliance of the project.
According to the review, Sonic Superstars is a legitimate continuation of the iconic 2D Sonic series, delivering both nostalgic flashes and fresh experiences. Critics note that despite the difficulty of some individual levels, the game's overall fast-paced action is immensely enjoyable.
The level design has earned well-deserved compliments, although there was some disappointment regarding the lack of voice acting, which, however, hasn't been a significant obstacle for fans of modern Sonic adventures.
The review concludes by emphasizing that players who grew up during the Mega Drive era have finally received the long-awaited Sonic game in the spirit of bygone years. Sonic Superstars, a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer, offers the opportunity to control Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy Rose.
The game is expected to launch on October 17 and is developed by Arzest, under the guidance of Sonic's creator, Naoto Ohshima. According to Sega, Sonic and his friends' journey begins on the North Star Islands, a mystical place with astonishing environments and a mysterious plot waiting to unfold. Players will encounter enormous creatures, thrilling adventures, and the malevolent schemes of Dr. Eggman. Furthermore, Sonic and his friends can now acquire brand-new abilities known as the Emerald Powers when they collect Chaos Emeralds.
